Covage,
a partner of local authorities
A long history of public-private partnerships
Since 2006, Covage has developed through public-private partnerships with local authorities. Covage was a key player in the development of the first generation of Public Initiative Networks (1G PIN) and enabled the development of numerous fibre optic infrastructure in the regions, with the aim of addressing the challenges of economic development, regional attractiveness, the democratisation of optical fibre and competitive stimulation.
By joining the Altitude group in 2021, Covage’s B2B activities have joined a group that shares the same DNA of partnership with local authorities. Altitude Infra (Altitude group) had in fact become a key player in the second generation of Public Initiative Networks (2G PIN) dedicated to the deployment of FTTH networks over the last 10 years.
A reasserted partnership vision
Since 2022, Covage has refocused its activity on the deployment, operation and marketing of B2B networks for businesses and local authorities.
Covage is thus the partner of choice for local authorities who wish to develop their first-generation public networks. In this respect, we support the local authority in developing third-generation public initiative networks (3G PIN) aimed at providing fibre optic services with a high quality of service for businesses and local authorities, as well as developing technologies adapted to new public needs in terms of smart territories: video protection, remote meter reading, resource management, etc.
